Coach Coleman could be the most confident AAU Basketball coaches in the country. His Mavericks are good and he’s not afraid to say so. “We could be a good basketball program”. Coach Coleman says. “I’ve been coaching for 23 years and I love my team and their good character. Under Coach Coleman the Mavericks are coming off a development season. This year, expect them tot take the next step.
In 2005 Coach Coleman started with just one 10 year old team and by 2006, the next season we had six teams including girls… Coach Coleman has his East Coast Mavericks learning fundamentals, practicing hard and winning games. We play pressure defense, fast break offense and total execution.
In 2009 the Boston/Brockton Mavericks now the East Coast Mavericks won one the 9u NEAAU State Championship and one West Coast AAU National Championship, in Las Vegas, Nevada
“You’re either progressing as a player or regressing”
Assistant Coach, Thurgood Marshall Jones
In his first AAU Coaching experience, coach TJ comes to Mavericks AAU with enthusiasm and knows how to win. TJ has been committed to the teams strength and conditioning and works with the players well-being on and off the court. TJ comes to Mavericks AAU with strong southern roots that help him greatly as the Mavericks top recruiter and strength coach. TJ also plays semi-pro basketball at a very competitive level. He is phenomenal shooter and often works with players to improve shooting skills. TJ’s involvement on the basketball court does not end once the season concludes; he helps run several off season conditioning camps. Coach Coleman really admires Coach TJ’s work and commitment.
Assistant coach, Joey Everett
Coach Everett has been an integral part of the Mavericks coaching staff. As the most experienced assistant coach on the Mavericks Staff, Coach Everett helps the program continual growth and development, often providing wisdom and knowledge of the game. Coach Everett often serves as Head Coach of the older age division, and has won three local tournament championships in 2009. Coach Everett is a consistent coach, hard working and very effective recruiter.
